Winona LaDuke had a dream she was riding against the current of oil. First Daughter and the Black Snake includes the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year ride.
These are images from the 5th Annual Love Water Not Oil ride which was completed when the riders rode from Bear Landing and Natural Springs into the Community Center in Rice Lake. The White Earth Reservation holds the largest wild rice lakes in the world and the only organic wild rice lakes. The proposed Enbridge Line 3 puts the watershed and the lives of the tribal members of White Earth into jeopardy.
The film features Winona and her community opposing Enbridge Sandpiper and Line 3 pipelines. Currently Enbridge is laying pipe in Wisconsin even though the permitting process is not complete in Minnesota so the company is jumping the gun on construction. Six Water Protectors have been arrested and have just received bail.
